Why you need to know that coaching isn’t one and the same

The world is experiencing a boom in the coaching industry, improving the lives of millions of people, and yet many are still confused about what coaching really is, whether coaching could have anything to do with them, and how to choose a coach that is best suited to them.

There is a good reason for that after all, as coaching has long been associated with business and team performance. Today, it plays an essential part in the personal development world, and there is a huge variety of choices when it comes to coaching - Life coaching? Health coaching? Business coaching? Executive coaching? Holistic Coaching? Family coaching? Sport coaching?

If I were to really simplify it, a coach is someone who helps you make a positive change in your life - taking you from your current state to the state where you want to be at - in any areas of your life, whether professional or personal.

Coaching is an investment in yourself, in your continued growth, wellbeing and happiness. You’re not simply buying a portion of time with your coach- you’re investing into your transformation to live your life the way you desire.

Deciding to invest in yourself by hiring a coach is an invaluable move, but how do you pick the best person for you?

It’s about chemistry!

In my view, this is one the most important things. It is great that there are so many coaches in the world, as you’re bound to find the perfect fit for you, someone who is offering exactly what you need to make the positive change you desire. A strong coaching relationship is powerful, and that means that while you’ll decide whether a particular coach is right for you, the coach will also decide whether you’re a good match. You’re selecting one another during a “discovery session”. Your coach needs to be someone who you feel comfortable with, who you resonate with, and a person you feel you can trust and open to.

And it is also about the approach!

You are unique as a person, and so are coaches. Coaches bring to the table not only their training and professional skills, but also their own life experiences, their personality, their presence and different tools and techniques.
